SBarney.com is the web site of Steve Barney. Steve
helps people through the role areas of ... Counseling &
Psychotherapy, Christian Life  & Recovery Coaching,
Inner Healing, Speaking & Writing. Steve worked for
seventeen years as a industrial scientist prior to
entering graduate school at the California campus of
Western Seminary in 1994. In 1997, he completed a
masters degree in marriage & family therapy. Steve is
happily married to Renee since August of 1981 and they
have three children.

As a Counselor-Therapist - Steve was in private
practice in California as a Licensed Marriage & Family
Therapist and worked in association with Christian
Counseling Centers of the San Francisco Bay Area from
1996-2009. He has extensive training and experience in
Individual Therapy, Pre-Marital Counseling, Marital
Therapy & Addictions treatment. Steve holds
certifications as a Certified Multiple Addictions Therapist
(CMAT) and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).
He was trained by Dr. Patrick Carnes, the leading
resercher in sex addiction treatment. For additional

treated also include depression, stress & anxiety, low
self-esteem. Steve is a member of the counseling staff

As a Speaker - Steve has spoken increasingly over the
last ten years at local Churches, Christian Recovery
Meetings, Men's Meetings, Marriage Conferences,
Leadership Trainings, etc. He also has been supervising
interns and training licensed therapists since 2003. He is
available to consult with therapists in the areas of
"Integrating Faith and Psychology", "Treating Compulsive
Habits of Food and Sex" & "General Psychotherapy
